You can use Aussie Catch the Wave styling mousse to get beachy waves. All you have to do is follow the directions on the bottle. Once the product is in your hair when it is wet, be sure to scrunch a LOT! The key to getting perfect curly, frizz-free, defined waves is to use a great product and scrunch! These are the keys! try braids before you go to bed and had a little hair spray and in the morning you should have wavy hair.

or try scrunching hair.

i have straight hair but if i go swimming the chlorine is still in my hair so it makes really wavy and pretty.
Braid your hair into little sections and sleep on it wake up and take the braids out and you will have cute little waves.

Also Garnier sells products that are meant for creating surfer waves
You can braid your hair really loosely and keep it like that overnight and it will get some kind of waviness.
