What is the difference between short hair hamsters and teddy bear hamsters?

I went to buy a hamster for my sister's 12th birthday she has been bugging for a teddy bear hamster.....When I looked at the tanks the hamsters labled ';teddy bear'; and ';short hair'; looked the same.......What is the difference between short hair hamsters and teddy bear hamsters?

Its a different breed much like different dog breeds, one might say a cocker spaniel looks the same as a Brittany spaniel but there are some differances
You can tumbledry the short haired ones but the teddy bear ones are handwash only.
