Would short hair make me look older or should i keep my slightly long hair?

Im 18. I am about 5 feet 8 inches tall. I have slightly long sunbleached hair. I was told by a hairstylist that short hair would make me look older. However I feel like he just wants me to spend my money over again. However my parents tell me my long hair makes me look older. I dont know who to trust the specialist or my parents. A little help would be great.Would short hair make me look older or should i keep my slightly long hair?
Bad advice sorry to say from both sides. I'm' a hair stylist who specializes in long hair. I can tell you from over 15 years experience it's all about taking care of your hair. I have seen women over 50 years old shave 15 years off by sporting very long hair. I have seen women who have short hair in their 20's look as old as mid-forties. Face shape has nothing to do with long hair. There are some who can't pull off short hair with certain face shapes but long hair doesn't work that way. I have yet to find any face shape or build that will not work with long hair but can't say that about short hair. I would go with what you want but I of course prefer long hair over short hair any day. It's much more VERSATILE and more feminine. My clients would never go back to short hair with all the attention they get and the feeling of having beautiful long hair.
