What's the best device to use to keep a short hair chihuahua from shedding too much?

I have a little 4 lb short-hair chihuahua and she sheds an insane amount. I have a Furminator, but her coat is so thin, I think it hurts her to use. Literally, my clothes will be covered with her hair after a good pet-lap session. Are there any good and comfortable brushes or devices to keep her undercoat in control? Thanks! What's the best device to use to keep a short hair chihuahua from shedding too much?
bathe her more often then normal and use something that moisturizes their skin the more dry the more they shed also get a soft comb brush and brush her every night she'll love it....if i don't do it to my dog every night she will bug me till i do plus is great bonding time...and if it doesn't get any better then go see you vet maybe she has a medical problemWhat's the best device to use to keep a short hair chihuahua from shedding too much?
Take her to your vet, this is NOT normal shedding.

You absolutely need to feed her a good dry kibble, not supermarket junk that is mostly corn meal. I feed my small dogs Canidae Chicken and Rice dry, with a little of the same canned mixed in. Since putting them on Canidae, their coats are excellent and they no longer have dry skin - so that should be the first thing you do - feed a good dry with meat as the first ingredient.

I would still get her checked out at the vet's, shedding this bad, with a thin coat, is often a sign of a problem, no amount of ';brushes or devices'; will make it better, this is an internal problem.
I'm late to answer but it is normal for some Chi's to shed a lot. One of ours does %26amp; it is crazy sometimes how much hair comes out of him! We use a pet lint roller %26amp; that really does help but it takes a lot of papers because so much comes out.

And some Chihuahua's DO have an undercoat...some do not. I have also thought about adding fish oil to their diet but haven't yet so I can't really comment on that. Every Chihuahua is different though - 2 of mine hardly ever shed (only seasonally) %26amp; the other, like yours, sheds like crazy (at the moment his undercoat is coming out while it's usually the top coat). I have a 4th who is only a baby so I'm not sure how her coat will be other than be our only long coat. :o)

Good luck!
Use a good quality shampoo for dogs that has a moisturizer in it. Oatmeal shampoos are good. Brush her with a regular brush every morning and every evening. If you brush her outside, the fur should stay outside. You can get an old sheet and cut a hole in one end and use it like an apron to cover your clothes when you brush her. Then you can leave the fur outside.
A soft brush, like boar-hair would help pull it out, but those undercoats are like shedding machines. A bath about once a week in a very gentle/mild soap (hand dish detergent like dawn is even good and comes in great smells) will help wash the hairs that are about to fall out down the drain. Good Luck!
chihuahuas do not have undercoats. most likely this is a diet deficiency and possibly allergies. She probably needs to be on a higher quality food with supplements such as omega 3 and vitamin E. This is common in over bred breeds such as German Shepherds, Chihuahuas, and French Bulldogs.

A zoom groom works great!
Give her some fish oil in her food, it sounds like her coat is way too dry. It makes a huge difference in keeping my German shepherds from shedding a lot and they have beautiful coats.
a rubber brush like a zoom groom may be best for her coat.

Also a good diet makes a big difference in the coat as well.
Lots of brushing and lint rollers.
My german shepherds shed tons! so does my pit bull.

I use lint rollers

They work very well for me
